Introduction  

The Phone & Mobile Number Auto Formatter extension for Zoho CRM automatically cleans and standardizes phone numbers across CRM records.

This extension ensures that phone numbers containing special characters such as “+”, periods (.), spaces, or other symbols are properly formatted and stored in dedicated custom fields. This helps maintain clean data, improves integrations, and ensures consistency across your CRM.

How the Extension Works  

1) When a phone number is entered or updated in:

  • Phone or Mobile fields (Leads & Contacts)
  • Company Number field (Accounts)

2) The extension automatically:

  • Removes unsupported or special characters (e.g., +, ., extra spaces).
  • Standardizes the number format.
  • Saves the corrected value into the corresponding Formatted custom field.

3) The original phone number remains unchanged, while the formatted number is stored separately for reporting, integrations, or dialing tools.
